(KLFY) -- Back in September, Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina, causing severe damage for many Christmas tree farmers.
Jeffery Pollard of North Carolina is a lifelong dedicated tree farmer. The family business has been serving communities for more than four decades.
"Oh, the storm was extremely devastating. It way surpassed our 100-year flood plain," Pollard stated.
Despite the setback, these dedicated farmers were determined to rebuild and bring holiday cheer to families across the country including Acadiana.
This year, Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina and did a number on Pollard's beloved "Riversbend Farm." But the Pollards are still committed to spreading holiday cheer despite all the family has been through.
"We tried to make the best of the best of it," Pollard said. "We were down to the last minute getting roads prepared. You know, one of our main roads to an access road to our farm got washed away. We had to take dozers and level it back out, cut ditches and gravel. I think we got gravel in three days before we started cutting."
The Pollards have a saying: Our Family Business is Your Family Christmas.
"We've developed friendships and relationships with people," Pollard said.
