NEW YORK (PIX11) -- From helping a Bedford-Stuyvesant mother of four get repairs, to an East Harlem pantry giving out hundreds of turkeys Friday afternoon with a little help from the New York Mets, there is so much good news and updates to stories PIX11’s Monica Morales has covered this week.
Mets legend John Franco and Mr. and Mrs. Met helped hand out free turkeys, bags of fresh produce, and lots of joy just in time for Thanksgiving. The Mets joined forces with New York Common Pantry Friday to help feed more than 500 families in need. The lines wrapped around the block onto Fifth Avenue. Franco said after growing up in public housing, he is grateful to give back to a neighborhood he loves.
Next in this week's Follow-up Friday: a great update to PIX11's story on the Bronx dance group that needed support for their team to go to Puerto Rico. After PIX11’s story, Milteri Tucker Concepcion, the founder and director of the Bombazo Dance Company, was on PIX11's Monica Makes it Happen social media show this week, fresh off their trip.
It was all thanks to the generosity of the community, Ponce Bank, Somos, and PIX11 viewers.
