Campaign finance reports were published online this week, revealing some of the contributions to campaigns and political action committees.
In one case, an uber-donor to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s PAC gave an in-kind gift that was unique from most: $105,350 worth of Alpaca shawls and shipping.
The donor, Daniel Adams of Aspen Colorado, is married to Alicia Adams who found the company of Alicia Adams Alpaca. He lists his current occupation as the director of fundraising for Kennedy's PAC.
The strange donation was spotted in the Federal Elections Commission report by Rob Pyers, a research director for the non-partisan group California Target Book.

He noted that the media has been focusing on the $5 million sent to both Kennedy and Trump from mega-donor Timothy Mellon, who has thus far he's given a total of $15 million to Kennedy.
As former Labor Secretary Robert Reich pointed out, "Timothy is also responsible for nearly all the donations to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s $54 million border wall fund."
The Mellon family money comes from Confederate Thomas Mellon, who once wrote how disgusted he was by "stolid, stupid, rude and awkward field negroes, lolling on the seats or crunching peanuts" in the Louisiana Legislature, and who called poverty a failure of character.
