MONTHS of twists and turns have led Mackenzie Boyd to run straight back to wife Charity Dingle but he’s far from being happy.
The Emmerdale hunk is due for a huge shock ahead of Christmas, as teased by the soap star who portrays him, Lawrence Robb.
Mackenzie has been confused over his own feelings[/caption] He has been trying to be a present father for his son Reuben[/caption] But things have been backfiring on him since he realised he still loves Charity[/caption]After facing confusion over his conflicting feelings, as he wanted to be present for his son Reuben, Mackenzie has finally come to terms with how he feels about Charity (played by Emma Atkins).
Sadly, this resulted in a vengeful Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) to retaliate by taking the tot away from Mackenzie and running away from the ITV village.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Lawrence Robb stated he shared “no sympathy” with his own troublemaking TV alter ego.
“I’ve no sympathy whatsoever”, the actor claimed, “he makes such terrible choices and very often none of them have any redemption whatsoever.”
“He’s fantastic fun to play, great fun to play. But do I agree with 99% of what he does? No.”
Scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama will show Mack trying to move heaven and earth as he desperately attempts to find Chloe and baby Reuben – meaning his relationship with Charity could be facing more turmoil than it already has.
Mack’s despair is due to linger on in upcoming weeks as he fails to find his son ahead of Christmas and his behaviour will be growing increasingly reckless.
Unfortunately, this also means the festive season will be particularly daunting for the hunk as Lawrence dropped a cryptic teaser during his chat with Metro.
“The teaser for this Christmas will be: cold, hard, sore, dangerous, dynamic, critical”, he said, without going into any specifics.
Chloe Harris has spent most of her time in the eponymous village alone, surrounded only by her long-lost mother Kerry Wyatt, who left the Dales shortly after Al Chapman’s death, and her sister, Amy.
However, things are all about to change as the fiery redhead is set to turn to her controlling father for help.
While the character has been shrouded in mystery for more than a year, ever since Chloe first appeared in Emmerdale, soap boss Laura Shaw revealed he’ll be wreaking havoc soon enough.
“We know that he was quite controlling with Chloe and that people are afraid of him, so obviously when she reaches out to him what we will see is him helping Chloe in his own unique way”, Laura explained.
“Is Mackenzie going to be able to talk his way out of this one? We’ll have to wait and see but I think it’s pretty sure to say the repercussions of that are going to be long-lasting into the new year and beyond.”
Viewers of the long-running program have been speculating a dark twist for Mackenzie, and it could involve death.
But before they can find out what’s ahead, Mackenzie will be pulling another desperate stunt to see Reuben, as confirmed by spoilers.
It all begins when Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) takes pity on Mack and tells him he will be visiting Chloe and Reuben with his partner Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
Charity and Mackenzie make the decision to follow them closely but it all backfires when Amy spots them.
Everything you need to know about Emmerdale
“He steals Amy’s phone and messages Chloe to trick her into coming to a park or a place that he knows of. That’s his plan to get Reuben back, or at least see him”, Lawrence explained.
But Chloe immediately gets suspicious and vows that he will never see Reuben again.
