The UFC’s middleweight division takes center stage as the promotion kicks off its February schedule.
The UFC announced Thursday that a matchup between Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov will headline the UFC’s Fight Night, which takes place Feb. 3 at a location and venue to be announced. MMA Time was first to report the booking on Twitter.
After Dolidze’s stellar 2022 campaign with three finish wins, he was only able to compete once in 2023, dropping a unanimous decision to Marvin Vettori at UFC 286 in March.
Dolidze was scheduled to face Derek Brunson and Jared Cannonier in separate end-of-the-year bouts, but with Brunson parting ways with the promotion in lieu of signing with the PFL, and Cannonier suffering an injury, they never came to fruition. The No. 13 ranked middleweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings is 4-1 in his past five outings.
Following three straight victories, Imavov was also unable to earn 2023 win. The 27-year-old began the year with a unanimous decision loss to Sean Strickland in January. He returned in June at UFC 289, and his fight with Chris Curtis was ruled a no-contest after an accidental clash of heads.
