Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for November following his fantastic turnaround.
The centre-back started the season as a regular on the bench and there were questions whether he should have left the club for regular playing time elsewhere.
His fortunes have, however, changed over the past few months. An injury to Raphael Varane saw him reinstated in the XI and he has continued to keep his place.
The England international has played every minute in November where United have had a perfect league run with three wins, keeping a clean sheet in each of those.
In the victories over Fulham, Luton Town and Everton, the former captain won a combined tally of 17 duels while making 20 clearances and providing 18 long balls.
It has been a fantastic turnaround for Maguire, who was out-of-favour not so long ago.
The 30-year-old has been rewarded for his efforts with the Red Devils with a Player of the Month nomination from the Premier League alongside five more candidates.
Thomas Kaminski, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Tavernier, Jeremy Doku and Anthony Gordan have also made the cut. With United’s huge fanbase, Maguire could get the accolade.
Meanwhile, United could get the Manager of the Month award too. Erik ten Hag has been picked for the prize on the back of a 100 per cent league record for United this month.
The Red Devils have had a forgettable Champions League campaign with three defeats and just four points from five matches, but need to refocus on their top-flight duties.
They face a stern challenge against Newcastle United on the road on Saturday night.
