STARS of Line of Duty and Killing Eve have teamed up for grisly new British film The End We Start – with an extended trailer dropping this week.
The Killing Eve actress will star as the main character in the film, which already has a string of glowing reviews under its belt.

Line of Duty’s Gina McKee will also star in the movie, which is based on Megan Hunter’s dystopian novel of the same name.
The all-British cast also includes Game of Thrones star Joel Fry, Doctor Strange’s Benedict Cumberbatch, Shazam star Mark Strong, Fantastic Beasts’ Katherine Waterston and Screw star Nina Sosanya.
The synopsis reads: “When an environmental crisis sees London submerged by flood waters, a young family is torn apart in the chaos.
“As a woman and her newborn try and find their way home, the profound novelty of motherhood is brought into sharp focus in this intimate and poetic portrayal of family survival.”
The upcoming film, which has already received nine nominations at the British Independent Film Awards, is described as a “hopeful story about the trials and joys of new motherhood in the midst of devastating floods that swallow up the city of London.”
Written by Succession and Normal People writer Alice Birch, The End We Start From marks director Mahalia Belo’s debut feature.
A shorter teaser trailer was released in September, but this new trailer gives more colour to the forthcoming film, which will be released early next year.
Most of the plot is still a big blur, but this new trailer has given the viewers a sneak peek into the film.
In the trailer, we see Jodie’s character in a euphoric state where she falls in love and starts a family with a man played by Joel.
Not long after the floods start, the couple are thrown into chaos and have to say goodbye to each other as the climate-related crisis worsens.
The End We Start From will be in UK cinemas on January 19, 2024.
