Two people have been arrested after a woman was found dead at a terraced house in Suffolk.
Police entered a property in Newmarket, a town 14 miles northeast of Cambridge, at 9.55am yesterday and discovered the woman’s body.
Paramedics attended the scene at Exning Road but the woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead.
Suffolk Police have since arrested two men, aged 47 and 38, on suspicion of murder.
Both were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Cordons were placed outside the house, with multiple police cars and two cans seen into the night while a large evidence tent was also pitched.
Two cordons remain in place as police inquiries continue.
Suffolk Constabulary said detectives are treating this as an ‘isolated’ incident but acknowledge this will ‘understandably cause concern in the local area’.
‘Residents will see an increased police presence, including uniformed officers,’ the force said.
‘Members of the public are encouraged to approach officers and discuss any concerns they may have.’
