A SAVVY shopper has shared how she made a festive self-care hamper for just £5.
A mum named Kara, who posts cleaning hacks and budgeting tips on her TikTok account, shared a video showing how she created a cheap but cheerful Christmas hamper using items from Poundland.
In the first part of the video, she can be seen walking around the budget store, showing viewers what she has purchased to put inside the hamper.
Opening the video, she said: “Hi I’m Kara and I’m going to show you how you can do Christmas gifts for £5″.
First, she picked up a deep moisturising hand-pack.
“These are perfect for £1”, the budgeting pro said.
Next, she added a £1 body spray to her basket.
“These body sprays smell amazing”, she commented.
“And is it even Christmas if you don’t get chocolate coins?”, she continued, adding a pack costing £1 to her shopping basket.
The final item Kara – whose TikTok username is @theonlywayis_pink -added to her bag was an adorable Christmas mug, adorned with candy canes and red and white lollipops.
In the next part of the video, the TikToker is back in her home, putting the hamper together.
“I’m using the mug as a Christmas basket”, Kara said, before placing the other items inside the mug.
“And now we just need to cellophane it up and make it look pretty”, she said grabbing a roll of polka-dot cellophane and wrapping the mug up with it, before tying it up at the top with an adorable bow.
“I always have a roll of cellophane, but you can get that in Poundland as well”, she said.
Finishing off the video, and showing off her budget creation @theonlywayis_pink said: “And there you have it, a mini hamper for £5.”
TikTok users flooded to the video’s comment section to praise Kara’s low-cost Christmas present.
One user said: “This is a perfect idea if your child wants to do a gift for a teacher or something.”
Another added: “I’m so sorry but that is so good I can now get my friend’s teen daughter a gift. I didn’t think I could afford it before.”
A third user commented: “I was like what? £5? As if! I stand corrected That is a fab little idea!”.
