SOCIAL MEDIA users have dubbed a bright pink catamaran the ‘Barbie yacht’ after footage of the vessel emerged.
Luxury yacht designers have built the boat with a 70s-inspired aesthetic, including a 54-square-metre saloon and velvet carpets.Pink velvet carpets will transport you back to the 70s[/caption]
But the boat’s name and owner remain a mystery – with social media users suggesting their name could be ‘Cotton Candy’ or the ‘Pink Panther’.
Accommodation includes space for eight guests across four cabins, with an additional crew of five.
The 24.6-metre aluminium vessel was reportedly custom built for an international tech entrepreneur.
It was constructed by Vision F, a Turkish boatbuilder, and designed alongside Thurstan Design in London.
The striking pink colour scheme marks a bright farewell for the 80 class of the company’s superyacht – after its third iteration sported an all-black exterior.
The interior décor is all pink too and features pink velvet carpet, rounded sofa chairs and integrated lighting.
The stern platform can be lowered for easy access to the water so the small jet boat on board, which is also pink, can get to sea.
But, with a shallow draft of under a meter, the catamaran itself can navigate shallow waters and reach remote bays too.
The yacht boasts a flybridge, an exterior helm station, and sun pads for sunbathing so you can turn as pink as the boat.
Ali Tanir, the general manager of VisionF Yacht, told of his pleasure in collaborating with various parties on the unique project.
“I am very happy to be involved even at the delivery stage of this project; she is truly one-of-a-kind,” he said.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 drives, the VisionF 80 can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots and has a range of over 1,800 nautical miles.Social media users suggested the boat could be called ‘Pink Panther’ or ‘Cotton Candy’[/caption] The vessel can accommodate eight guests across four cabins as well as a staff of six[/caption]
