WHILE it is normal for families to look alike, most people don’t resemble their dad’s new wife.
After sharing a video about how similar they are, a step-mum and daughter duo have been relentlessly targeted by trolls – who call it creepy.
The US step mum and daughter have gone viral for their eerie similarity[/caption] The influencers share a very close bond despite not being related[/caption]If you were to see Savana and Tizzi Chapin walking down the road, you’d easily mistake them for a mum and daughter – or even sisters.
With less than seven years between them and their uncanny resemblance, most people would assume that they were at least biologically related.
However, 28-year-old Savana is actually Tizzi’s step mum and their double act has been causing more than a few raised eyebrows online.
Though their Tiktok videos regularly go viral and receive millions of views, the family have been cruelly targeted by trolls – especially her husband Chris.
Many accuse the 44-year-old man of wanting to ‘date’ his own daughter, branding him sick or a creepy online.
During their interview with Love Don’t Judge, the now mom-of-three even read aloud one of the comments – which showed just how much hatred they receive.
“I would be f***ing traumatised if my dad married someone who looks exactly like me,” she laughed, whilst sat with her husband Chris and step-daughter Tizzi, 21.
Ironically, this strange love story started in a pretty mundane way with the now-married couple first locking eyes over a job interview.
Having recently divorced and with his life still in a ‘tailspin’, Chris had been hoping to find a new stylist for his salon – not a new wife.
Likewise, Savana had only just ended a long-term relationship and admitted that she wasn’t ‘interested’ in finding someone so soon.
As they worked side-by-side in the salon though, it soon became apparent that there was a spark between them.
“Once I was separated from my current situation, the more I would talk to her [and] be around her…I felt there’s something super special there that I had never really felt before,” Chris confessed.
Though the couple are now married with children of their own, this hasn’t ease people’s concerns about their relationship.
In fact, the backlash has only intensified as the family became famous for their unusual family dynamic – especially after people learnt about the step mum and daughter’s age gap.
“I made the mistake of putting my age above where I was and her age above where she was. And it just started this big massive tornado of negative comments,” she recalled, thinking back to her controversial video.
With the video rapidly going viral, the hateful comments quickly emerged too.
“Most of them were geared towards Chris,” she explained, adding: “Anything that you can imagine the sickest of sickest things that you could think of.”
For the proud dad, the accusations still hurt and he has struggled with the scrutiny at times.
“We just basically got destroyed,” he admitted in the short documentary.
Despite this, it hasn’t stopped Savana and her step-daughter from creating viral videos.
Hitting back at their critics, the mum said: We’re just one big family and it doesn’t matter what anybody says because we’re happy and that’s all that matters.”
