STAR chef Gino D’Acampo was raging with telly bosses last night after a disastrous toboggan stunt for a big-budget travel show — and said: “Everything was a shambles.”
An ambulance was called after three people were caught-up in the drama, whilst Gino also received treatment from medics.
Last night the 47-year-old Italian, who had been filming with pal Fred Sirieix, said: “It was the worst shoot of our life.
“I am shocked I have not had a phone call from ITV to see how I am and I cannot wait to talk to them about all of this.
“After 22 years of working with them, I am in an accident and I get ill, and yet I don’t get a phone call; I smell a fish. I think ITV have no idea what happened.”
The accident happened during filming of a new ITV show Emission Impossible — and production has now been permanently halted.
Shocked cast and crew were all sent home and offered counselling following the accident in Vienna, Austria, on October 18.
Gino later came down with a temperature of 40.3 degrees and was bed-ridden — for which he blames filming “12-14 hour days” in freezing conditions.
The incident will draw comparisons to Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff’s terrifying Top Gear crash — which was blamed on inept health and safety oversights.
Last night a source said: “Fred and Gino repeatedly flagged concerns about health and safety, and they were exhausted from long 12, 14-hour days in freezing conditions. Earlier, they had been filming in a glacier.
“One stunt saw Gino have to go down a 200ft slide on a toboggan, clutching a cocktail glass. He raised concerns at the top of the slide about the glass.
“He was still filming a piece to camera when a mother and her two kids came hurtling down at 30mph and crashed.
“There was blood everywhere and one of the boys had blood pouring from his mouth,
“The mum and her other child had concussion and an ambulance was immediately called as Gino was treated on-site.
“Crew were understandably shaken and the shoot was immediately halted.
“ITV had real duty of care concerns and immediately offered counselling to anyone who may have been upset by what they saw.
“There were echoes of the Freddie Flintoff crash and ITV were adamant that they look after their staff.
“The following day both Fred and Gino got ill, and Gino’s temperature shot up to 40.3 degrees. Two doctors were called.
“He was prescribed antibiotics, and had to remain holed-up in Vienna until he was well enough to fly home.
“Gino was livid after the crash, and vented his frustrations at the bottom of the slide.
The entire production has now been halted, with doubts over the show’s future.
Ironically all crew on the show — about how to reduce carbon footprint — were flown home. Yesterday ITV confirmed that the show was no longer “in production”, while plans for a second series have also been canned.
Emission Impossible was billed as a passion project for Gino and French First Dates star Fred, 51.
The pair set about trying to eat, sleep and travel as sustainably as possible in “inspirational” locations.

Production Company Betty TV are now said to be frantically trying to recoup their costs, fearing a spiralling insurance bill for the pulled shoot.
The Austrian capital was chosen as a backdrop after being ranked the greenest city in the world.
In a statement announcing their new show, Gino and Fred said: “We’re thrilled to be upcycled by ITV for another action-packed adventure and can’t wait to cook up some fantastic sustainable dishes whilst hopefully stirring up debate around these important issues.
“We might not come up with the recipe to save the planet but we hope to entertain, inform and inspire the audience to think about making changes in their own lives.”
This latest episode follows a turbulent year for the popular Italian.
Earlier this year, Gino quit his telly road show with Fred and Gordon Ramsay after difficulties negotiating terms on his contract.
In April, The Sun told how he was caught up in a drugs bust — much to the fury of Michelin-starred chef, Gordon, 56.
Border Force pulled over Gino after he touched down in Britain on Ramsay’s private jet following filming in Spain.
Gino is married Jessica Stellina Morrison, with whom he has three children.
He has been a regular on TV shows, including Celebrity Juice, and three years ago took over the revamped version of ITV quiz show Family Fortunes.
Last night Betty TV were contacted for comment.
ITV declined to comment.

He won the show in 2009 but was embroiled in the unfortunate episode when he and fellow campmate Stuart Manning nobbled the rodent and turned it into a risotto.
The scenes caused outrage and the pair were accused of animal cruelty.
Gino was taken from the jungle to a police station but was released.
ITV apologised and paid a £2.000 fine.
He has long been a viewers’ favourite on This Morning.
From 2011 until 2014, he presented daytime cookery programme Let’s Do Lunch With Gino and Me and since 2013 he has hosted seven series of Gino’s Italian Escape.
