The Outlander season 6 episode 2 trailer showcases another tough decision for Jamie to make and a major problem with Marsali's unborn baby. Based on the ongoing novel series of the same name, the series initially premiered in August 2014 on Starz to immensely positive reviews from critics and fans of the books alike. During its years on television, the series has managed to span across six seasons, and an already announced season 7 is currently in the works.
Outlander follows Claire Randall, a former World War II nurse who is suddenly transported back in time from 1945 to 1743 while visiting Scotland, coming into contact with various Scottish clans as well as falling in love with Highland warrior Jamie Fraser. The show features a star-studded cast of actors that shifts over the seasons, including the likes of Sam Heughan, Caitríona Balfe, Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton, John Bell, César Domboy, Lauren Lyle, and Caitlin O'Ryan. Outlander season 6 premiered on March 6, 2022 and is currently set to conclude on April 24.
In the season 6 episode 2 trailer shared by TV Promos, not everything seems happy for the group of historic Highland clan. Jamie is seen talking with his wife about a serious decision that he has suddenly been forced to make, unsure if granting the Cherokee's request for extra weapons would mean arming his future enemy. Furthermore, the pregnant Marsali is seen having pains in her stomach, and it is revealed that her unborn baby has not moved in hours, not boding well for her or the child. Whilst past seasons of the series have been well-received, Outlander's depiction of sexual assault has been a subject of criticism, with multiple instances being included across the show's run. Season 5, in particular, ended with a brutal assault of the show's lead, Claire, garnering a negative response overall to the way the show handled it. Many of Outlander's creatives have said that these scenes happen in the novels and are put into the show to stay true to the source material.
With this brand new promotional trailer being unveiled, it is clear that Outlander season 6 will be no different than those before it, creating problems for their powerful characters to ultimately overcome. Furthermore, with Claire's trauma from her assault being a major part of her story moving forward, it seems this latest season will give audiences the justice from the storyline that they had been looking for. Viewers will be able to see the show's continued approach for themselves when Outlander season 6 episode 2 airs on Sunday, March 13.
