Lindsey has rubbed fans the wrong way throughout her unfolding journey in Married At First Sight season 14, but viewers are starting to suspect Mark isn't too good for his arranged wife. Initially, fans felt bad for Mark and believed the relationship experts burdened the Bostonian by pairing him with Lindsey, but the latest season 14 episodes have shown Mark in a new and unflattering light. From the unkempt condition of his apartment to his generally unorganized adult life, here's why Married At First Sight fans think Mark and Lindsey deserve each other.
At the beginning of season 14, Married At First Sight fans were adamantly against Lindsey. To viewers' credit, Lindsey did a poor job of making a strong first impression throughout season 14's initial episodes. Lindsey's first moments in Married At First Sight were comprised of her drinking too much champagne on the way to her wedding and almost exposing her chest on television. Fans grew more irritated with Lindsey when she initiated a fight with her fellow season 14 newlywed, Olajuwon, on the flight to the cast's honeymoon and tried to play the victim. Mark was celebrated for his ability to diffuse the situation, but after Married At First Sight's latest episodes, fans believe Mark and Lindsey deserve each other.
Mark had one of the strongest introductions of any of the new cast members in Married At First Sight season 14, but after only a few episodes, fans were able to find faults in "the shark." Mark first demonstrated his flaws when he asked Lindsey to a romantic candle-lit dinner only to tell her he wants to pump the brakes on their marriage. Most recently, viewers were put off by Mark's living conditions. Lindsey finally got to see Mark's apartment in season 14, and the new husband's living quarters left much to be desired. Fans discovered that Mark had bed bugs and a toxic relationship with a landlord he treats like his mother. A Reddit user assessed, "At first glance, Lindsey seems the most off the rails but... [Mark] has bed bugs [and] a psycho landlord... I'm not sure who to dislike more!"
After Married At First Sight fans got to know more about Mark in season 14, it became apparent that the husband wasn't too good for his chaos-prone arranged spouse. Specifically, viewers think Mark poses as a competent adult but, in reality, he is far from having his life figured out. By failing to have a home his wife can comfortably move into, fans believe Mark might be just as problematic as Lindsey. One viewer explained, "Mark... catfished them a bit... He plays nice guy in front of the camera... I don’t think Mark has everything in line." Fans believe Mark successfully fooled his fellow Married At First Sight cast members and audiences at first, but is slowly revealing himself to be messy enough to deserve Lindsey. A commenter cemented, "[Mark's] not the catch that a lot of people... think he is."
Mark started out his journey in Married At First Sight season 14 as a fan favorite, but as his relationship with Lindsey has unraveled, some viewers see Mark in a different light. From his insensitivity to his improperly cared-for home, fans are starting to think Mark and Lindsey deserve each other. For better or for worse, Married At First Sight's relationship experts might have hit the nail on the head by pairing Mark and Lindsey.
