The mother of a missing four year-old girl has been heckled by protesters who claim she is to blame for her daughter’s disappearance.
One was heard to say ‘Murderer!’ as Brittany Bowen and her spokesman Quanell X attended Bowen’s ex-fiance Derion Vence’s court hearing in Houston, Texas, on Monday.
Another protester held up a sign saying ‘Lock them up’ – implying Bowen is as to-blame as Vence for her daughter Maleah Davis vanishing, KHOU reported.
Others begged with her to confess her involvement in Maleah’s disappearance, KHOU reported, and shouted ‘Where’s Maleah?’ during a subsequent press conference held by her spokesman.
Bowen’s ex-fiance Darien Vence had been due to appear before a judge over the disappearance of Maleah, last seen alive on April 30. His hearing was rescheduled, and could be delayed until July.
Vence claimed Maleah was abducted by three men as he drove to the airport to pick Bowen up on May 3.
The mother had flown to Massachusetts on April 30 – the last day Maleah was seen alive – to attend her father’s funeral.

No trace of the youngster has been found, sparking fears she may have been killed and then dismembered.
Prosecutors have said Vence could face murder charges, with Quanell X speculating that he may have killed Maleah to get revenge on Bowen for breaking off their engagement.
X told CBS News: ‘When that happened, I believe that he psychologically snapped – already on top of being abusive to Maleah.
‘He did this to hurt the mother in a way that she would never recover.’
Vence claimed that he was knocked out by the three men in a pick-up truck he accused of abducting Maleah.
He finally reported her missing around 24 hours after he claimed she was last seen alive, and presented himself with abrasions on his forehead he said were inflicted by Maleah’s kidnappers.
Vence also claimed the Nissan Maxima had been stolen.
It was found at a strip mall in Missouri City, Texas, on Friday.
